What does this statement mean in my warranty book . where an annual inspection identifies that repairs to the vehicle are necessary the caravan must be made available for repair within six weeks of the date of inspection to the purpose of carrying out the repair work.                                       This quoted in my bailey warranty book does this mean any work done on the van should be carried out within six weeks. Have the dealers defaulted the warranty

I think it means that the said vehicle must be made available to the place that repairs are to be carried out, if i was in that position then i would expect some form of "letter" to advise if they could not carry out the work and a date for when they can, especially as noted on numerous posts the amount of time "off the road" some have been

I would assume it means you cannot defer them any more than six weeks but they can. So for instance if you were going on holiday and were happy to live with the problem, this would not be acceptable. However, if you were going on holiday and needed the repair to go, they could take more than 6 weeks, as long as they eventually carried out the repair.☹️

It's a question of mitigating the loss. If you do not present the van for repair in a timely manner, the problem could get worse and the Guarantor would then incur greater cost to undertake the repairs.

Often you can negotiate a longer period but it is the dealer's option to refuse. When our Bailey had to be returned to the factory for damp repairs, the dealer (in conjunction with Bailey) agreed that we could present the van at the end of the season.
