Hi all, After a few years towing with my van & fed up of sites refusing me Ive decided to put a towbar on the wifes Vitara:I know theyre light & not the most powerfull things: But thought,well: my 1968 cortina 1600 & my 1989 1300 Maestro towed admirably so the vitara should: The caravans a 1996 Coachman 360/2 so very light. About 900kg's fully laden. I've been towing for over 40 yr's all over england & europe:

So does anyone out there tow with a 1600 Vitara:?

    I used to tow an Abbey 2 berth with a 1600 Vitara. It needed lower gears with high revs for hills, but there were no serious problems. Stability was certainly good. The actual weight in service was  about 950kg.

    Thanks, just what i wanted to here: I fully expect to rev it a bit but so long as stability is good: Tow bars fitted now. Just a couple of odds & ends to buy then will be trying it:
