Dometic Fridge

For some reason when our Dometic Fridge defrosts the water is collecting in the tray beneath then lower set of vanes but not escaping down the emptying hole. Has anyone else suffered with this and how did you manage to clear the problem?

I cured ours by poking a cotton bud down the drain hole and unbunging it, Nellie.

Not  sure  how  long,  or  straight,  your  Drainage  tube  is,  Nellie  but  if  you  can  get  a  longish  piece  of  flexible  wire  and  ease  that  down  it  might  help

OR  perhaps  a  small  12  volt  compressor,  of  the  type  used  to  blow  up  your  tyres  might  help  if  powered  up  &  set  to  something  like  30 psi

Thanks ABM, tried the cotton bud tip again today without success, and am reluctant to start poking around with a piece of wire. Might give it a try with my tyre compressor though.

I  was  not  thinking  of  wire  that  would  tow  your  van,  Nellie 

Rather  more  like  a  length  of  wire  from  a  ( redundant )  piece  of  3-core  --  with  a  1/4  inch  length  of  the  insulation  leading  so  you  won't  damage  the  plastic  work,

That's what I've tried but without success. Guess It will have to be up to the service guys to fix it.

Rather than wire try a plastic tiewrap.

the best flexible wire to unblock tube is net curtain wire as is very strong and bends round almost anything. don't use tyre inflator as if blocked solid near other end it will just blow up.
