Blue toilet chemical
We've just returned from holiday to find the blue toilet chemical has leaked all over the locker. Does anyone know how to remove the staining please?

We have a stain on the bottom of the locker where we keep our toilet cleaner, and haven't been able to find anything which removes it. I've tried bleach, washing soda, sugar soap, CIF, ceramic hob cleaner which is mildly abrasive, and others, and whilst it has faded you can still tell where the blue was.

If it's wooden, rub it out with sandpaper. If it isn't, perhaps consider painting over it? Awful stuff to try and get out. Don't think anyone has found a solution.

Lethal stuff in respect of colourant. That's why we now use bio laundry pods or organic fluid where we can't! I do hope you can remove it. We line our cupboard and can change the lining. Old vinyl flooring or carpet, the sound insulation from those click floorboards is good too. 😉

If it has soaked into porous material like the wood on the inside of the locker, I would think it next to impossible. I have spilt small amounts and have just left then to dry as I could not shift them. They don't show when the locker is closed.😀
If it has spilt and stained on the outside of the door, drywash might work. I always found that very good at removing stains on our old van, without damaging the surface. It will depend on what the locker door is made of, some plastics seem particularly susceptible to staining.

- Thanks very much all; I had feared that was the answer. Will try dry wash, the van is 20 years old so don't think it's plastic cupboards. For those posted about bio pods - like you wash clothes with? Do they go in bottom of toilet instead of blue. What do you do about the flush? Many thanks for all your replies..

much discussion re bio pods on the 'making touring cheaper' thread, but essentially, the pods replace the fluid altogether.
just empty and rinse cassette as normal, then drop in a bio gel pod and refit cassette.
we dont have a separate flush tank but you can carry on using what ever you feel happy with, folk use different additives, zoflora, some use a spray.....we just use boring water.....
ive found Lidl bio gel tabs (around £2.80 for 20) to be great, especially as they have anti limescale properties which will see ypur cassette return to 'as new' condition after about 5/6 cycles.

Lidl bio washing pods are great. BB we buy at £2.40 😲. We have no separate flush so water flush only. Wipe bowl over seat etc with domestos or parazone toilet wipes daily.
We bought toilet fluid pods in NZ as they were what we're supplied when we hired pricey 😲, seen them here, same applies 😲😲😲, colour still an issue if they get damp.

ha, B2 they may be £2.40....
i do know that, after trying Aldi 'lavender' pods, ill be going back to the std Lidl ones as these seem far more up to the task.

I prefer Lidl pods too! Formil. (Also converted to them for the washing machine!) And after experimenting with fabric softener in the flush I am returning to finish off the crystal pink then maybe zoflora I see others use. Softener wasn't doing it for me not at what I consider an economic rate. I ended up using Flash from the spray bottle I had with me.
I had an accident with the blue tipping over in the bathroom, about 3 years on the bath mat has just about washed it out! Silly me had forgotten to put it in the locker.

I know this is an old post but hoping someone see it .We also have a problem with the thelford touring caravan toilet being stained blue.it happened when our son also new to touring caravans put the blue that should have been in the bottom locker in the top flush locker and the pink in the bottom.
Well we know what we're doing now but our toilet bowl is as I said badly stained .I've tried scrubbing with toilet brush,those sponges that are supposed to clean even felt tips etc off paint and walls ,sprayed with bleach but nothing .anyone tried thelford toilet bowl cleaner on this problem ,also bio pods I've read there good .do they go in the bottom locker where the blue goes or the top flush locker ?Thanks

Sorry to read of your toilet bowl staining. I can offer nothing to help and fear you're stuck with it 😔. You can buy another if you feel that bad about it.
Bio pods are great, cheaper and don't stain if you accidentally 😲. Yes they go in the the bottom cassette.
I've heard the pink can cause black gunge but as ours flushes direct from the tank it's plain water - as at home.

I use lidl Formil bio washing tabs without conditioner and just drop one in the bottom tank. Actually stops calcium build up and less faff. I say 'I' but the truth is I empty cassette and replace and the next to use the loo drops a tab in from the container under the washing basin.
I doubt that you will remove the blue stain from plastic. I use plain water in the flush.
