Hey Hey,

New to this and way to early to talk about Christmas I know!!!

My husband and I are from Surrey and we have a touring caravan with two small dogs. We go away at Christmas and have stayed at Cirencester the last couple of years, but just fancy a change this year. Btw the site is fantastic and well worth visiting(Great for dogs too).

This year we want to stay for Xmas and New Year. Our wish list is:-

  • Wifi (A must)
  • Dog walk on site or nearby
  • Toilet Block
  • Peace and Quiet
  • Good TV reception
  • Supermarket Nearby but not too near
  • Near the beach would be a bonus
  • Good Local pub nearby

Happy to drive anywhere in the UK. Anyone have any suggestions or some inspiration.

Many Thanks

Ferry meadows, Peterborough. No beach but miles and miles of walking and cycle paths in the Nene country park with lakes and the River Nene flowing through.

Ross Park in South Devon is offering a special Christmas festive package, and it would be hard to find a site with higher review scores than this one.

One site with everything but the beach.......Club's Bolton Abbey Site. Fantastic walks right from your pitch, wonderful wildlife, great facilities, couple of castles to visit, ruined Abbey, lovely Skipton. Magical in the snow as well if you have a good 4x4. You will need to book early to get in though probably.

Another vote for Ross Park, though I'm not sure if they'll still have spaces! smile

Already Booked my 15 nights at Southport including Christmas. Not sure about quiet as the sound of the sea can be noisy when windy and also emergency vehicles. Ticks the rest I reckon.

Don't forget if choosing a Club site you can only book up until the end of December at present. January dates not released until later ..... October (?)

Ah! So you HAVE been to Southport winklaughing (And there's still miles of promenade to walk along when the Spring tides come in!)

The Fish (or Fisherman's Rest to be correct) is a worthwhile watering hole/eatery and only a few minutes walk from the site.

WE have been there in December for the last 7 years I think. Before that we went a couple of times in Winter to see groups at the theatre.

Exmoor House but sorry no supermarkets just good local shops and delis (small co-op too.) Also Minehead, walk to the sea, local shops and a supermarket with local shops nearby. Good pubs which welcome dogs near both these sites.

    Hi

I'm running a Caravan Club Rally from 28th December - 2nd Janurary at Manor Farm Charmouth,

The site is situated at the bottom of the village with the beach, pubs, fish and chip shop, bakery, butchers, newsagents and general store all within a leisurely 10 minute walk.

The site/rally itself will have entertainment in the club house on the 29th, 30th & 31st and a Roast Lunch will be available on New Years Day to save you cooking.

The pitches all have EHU, some have water and most are graveled.

The site has an adult only pool, gym and Sauna available for use at additional cost.

We are expecting the rally to run at the same cost as last year £135 including all fees, the only extras will be the new years day lunch if its required.

it is listed on our website www.dandccc.co.uk or you can contact me direct on suesrallies@gmail.com.

The site does open all year but the entertainment suite will be closed until we arrive.
