Problems Draining Hot Water Tank
I know there are various arguments running as to if this is necessary when moving on, however, we almost always do.
This tour it has refused to drain each and every time. I have opened drain valve and taps, but it refuses to drain. The drain valves seems to open as there is an initial few drips before it dries up. On bumping out of the campsite it starts draining and from the amount required to prime it, at the next site, it seems to all come out. Our system is an Alde.
My question is do you think it is just the valve sticking, or not opening properly, or is there some other vent that is not performing.
It is not a significant problem at the moment, however come the winter I want to be sure it has fully drained down, and this is difficult when you can't monitor it,

Open the drain valve first then just ONE tap set to Hot obviously ( I'd use the shower head if its small enough ) then BLOW like blazes back down the tap. If its just a tad sticky it might well get blown open before you need to do anything else
or even
!!

we had a similar problem a good ten years or so now. From what I member the local dealer/service person seems to know exactly what part had gone wrong and fixed it in minutes, something to do a non return vale near or on, the actual hot tank. When you open the drain, the pressure drops in the pipes and allows this non return value to open and the water comes out of the tank.

Thanks all. I will try blowing ABM it's worth a try.
BB On our Unicorn it is an internal pump, which is safe to run dry, so I did try that, unfortunately to no avail.
Yes ET that is exactly what we do.
CS I am taking it in and leaving it with them to sort out the Satellite dome in a few weeks, so if ABM's fix does not work I will ask them, hopefully they will be as wise.
