It may be that this topic has been discussed but I could not find the answer I was looking for when I searched. We have been having trouble with our leisure battery, I think I let it run so far down that it could not be recovered. My questions are:

1. Does the leisure battery charge up when we are moving?

2. Does it charge up when on-site and plugged into the mains?

3. Similarly, will it charge up if I plug the caravan into the house mains?

I would appreciate your help, please!

This should not be in "Ask the Expert" as that's some sort of staff based section so someone will be along shortly to move it somewhere else.

To answer your question though, assuming your car and caravan are correctly wired and no fuses/trips have blown, the answers are:-

    1. If the power unit in the caravan is designed to - yes.

    2. If switches are set correctly, yes

    3. If it works at 2 above, yes.   You need an adaptor lead of course, and you don't get 16 amps!

Thank you Navigate, what "switches" are you referring to in 2, please?
