Avatar Tutorial?
Hi, I've just joined up and successfully uploaded an avatar image to my profile. I can see it when I log into my profile details but it doesn't show in forum discussions. Is there a tutorial for uploading avatars or is it a case of somewhere in the code it isn't making the photo public?
Thanks

Don't know if this is relevant, but did you click the save button once you'd entered your details, RosieR? You could also try clearing your cache, which may help.

Using a laptop I tried to change my avatar during the 1st week in May & again yesterday. As soon as I clicked on save button it disappeared. On each occasion avatar had changed when I viewed it in Edge in May & Firefox yesterday. I have no idea why but have emailed CT manager asking if she could ask IT dept.

you definitely cant change an avatar using an IOS machine (attracting the younger explorers?) as it needs Flash.
i tried the other day on my old Windows box and, despite resizing the i age, it still failed.....dismally....

There are a group of people using the web site like Rosie in the OP who have the reduced avatar and no information has been produced recently how this can be solved. So i would suggest contacting the community manager for technical help.
I can change my avatar by reducing the photo size to 500 pixels before starting. After loading the photo to the @change my photo@ section and finishing the procedure I clear my browser history.
@ this is what I get when I try to use inverted commas on here at the moment!!

Brue thanks
Cleared browsing history & avatar changed in CT discussions here but not on my profile yet. I got the following there. Floating over jigsaw piece these words appeared ‘Adobe Flash Player’ Maybe new avatar will also show there soon.

brue - Good to see ‘@ problem sorted & you changed your avatar OK. My profile avatar has now changed so will send email to CT manager to say problem solved as I thought it may be a problem with the site but turned out to be me not clearing history. Hope I remember in the future to do this.
