The batteries on my old Ryobi cordless drill/driver are just about done in. I have had the drill for approx 10 years so not complaining.

Dont want to shell out tons of cash for a new one, any suggestions for replacement or should I just get a new battery( £17 on EBAY) ?

I've rebuilt the battery packs on several (otherwise good) cordless drills. Original cells were NiCd, replaced with much higher capacity NiMH cells sourced on ebay from China. Cost is not a lot less than buying a complete new cheapo drill .....but performance and battery duration is vastly better.

If your old battery lasted 10 years ish and you can get a new one for 17 pounds, I think you have answered your own question.
