Reading site reviews people refer to this being quite open and windy and suggest that the "bottom part " is more sheltered. We have a service pitch booked and wondered if this is in a sheltered area or would I be better moving to a standard pitch ?

Depends which way the wind is blowing but the serviced pitches are least exposed. It's a lovely area so enjoy your stay.

Unless your expecting gale force winds, i really would not worry about it. You will hopefully have a choice of the serviced pitches anyway, so just choose the one you like.

I had a Serviced Pitch on the top level, near the facilities, and all was well. In my opinion the whole site would be subject to the same stresses in a high wind.

I tried to book a pitch here for the weekend after the May bank holiday. It took five or six attempts before I finally succeeded. Initially the web speed was glacial and when it finally let me into the right page I got a message saying it wasn't possible to book at this time.

I left it until later in the evening and got in more or less straight away.

I did like the calendar which lets you put your dates in by just tapping on the day.

We're visiting my eldest grandson who is at university in Newcastle, we did the same last year and had a cracking  day out.
