I have the Milenco Aero mirrors and find that they are brilliant.

However on the Sorento the mirror body is sort of one shell inside another and the flat compression pad on the screwdown part always look a little precarious and didn't have a lot to bite on.

I noticed that Milenco have producted a replacement pad with a shaped rubber especially for this type of mirror. Just had a weekend away using them and they now clamp on much firmer. Great retro-fit product.

    Agree, I have been using these on the D4 for some time, although I have found for the D4, the grip best with the pad in 180 from the picture shown.

    Likewise I have been using the shaped pad for about 3 years now on my Freelander, a much better grip than the standard pad that came with the mirrors.

    Looking at the picture the pad is the wrong way round as it has LESS grip than the standard.

    They are the way round that Milenco intended because there is a tab that fits into a slot in the C-clamp, to prevent it rotating.

    I initially thought that they would be better the other way round but have given them a try as intended. The picture does not do it justice. The rubber has formed a V and is now pressing on both the black section and the silver outer section. Very much in the style of a v-block used to hold a circular object in a drill press.

    The V shaped pad works very well on my 2010 Sorento BUT..........if white van man on the twisty road around the top of loch lomond hits the mirror it will still come off the car mirror....saving £400 plus!!!

    even if it does cost £200 for the caravan window that the mirror broke!!!!!!

    In my case it was garlic-eating-motorhome-man looking at the ski slope behind him on straight wide carriageway in Glencoe. Only a new mirror head required for me, but as he did not stop I do hope it was an expensive repair for him.

    It did sway me to get a front towing cover though!

    White van man took my offside Millenco Grand Aero off, last year on a Devon road which actually wasn't that narrow.  Of course he didn't stop and I couldn't with the van on the back.  Cost me £65 for a new pair of mirrors.

    The new one now has dayglo yellow tape on it - won't stop it getting knocked off but at least it's a lot more obvious.
