Towing to London

hi all, I'm going to be towing my trailer tent to crystal palace next weekend from Lincolnshire. This will only be my 3rd time towing it and both other times have only been local sites. I've wrote the directions given in the site directory and read them a thousand times! I'm terrified, I'm really worried about what the roads are like, both traffic wise and whether there's lots of uphill driving etc. I don't know why I'm so worried, I drove 260 miles to Bournemouth last year and drive anywhere usually but never with my TT and never to London of all places. I'm getting so worked up about that I want to stay in a hotel instead but I also really want to do it so I know I can do it and build my towing confidence. Thank you ladies and gents. Steph.

You really have nothing to worry about cool

I live about 6 miles from the site and will pass it this morning on my way to pick our caravan up from storage in Orpington for our long weekend in Sussex.

Crystal Palace is approached by hills in all directions but nothing that steep apart from the road from Elmers End and even then it's not that bad.  The site is on a very wide road and easily found.  Traffic can be a bit hectic during rush hours but still flows.

The only thing to be mindful of in London is that there are traffic cameras everywhere so be careful with the bus lanes, box junctions etc or you may cop for a fine in the post when you get home.

    Enjoy your trip.

    Ian.

Do you not use a sat nav? Just thinking that spoken instructions are easier to follow than trying to recall a route that has been written down. The Clubs instruction for getting to sites are pretty reliable. If you are driving on a Saturday or Sunday traffic volumes should be a lot less than weekdays.
