petrol guage

Hi all. i have a fiat ducato 2.3 2011 swift escape 622.the problem i have is that the petrol guauge works when the ignition is on.then when engine is swithed on the gauge dives to empty showing warning light.also lose average mpg, and other stats on the clock display.  ANY IDEAS?
