overflow on a combi boiler

Shortly after we turned on our water heater (electric) on the combi boiler, we noticed that the water pump was turning on for a few seconds every 15 minutes or so. A quick inspection revealed that we were losing hot water out of the boiler overflow in a constant drip.

When we contacted a help line with the problem, we were told, as a temporary fix, to put some polythene over the outlet nozzle on the boiler and then place the outlet tube back over the polythene to stop the water escaping. That worked OK for the rest of the trip, but does anyone have any ideas what would cause the boiler to overflow ?

Hi  RStratton. If you see water coming out of the 'dump valve',the little red lever ,it could be that it's not seating properly.Open & close it a few times,if this does'nt work then it's a new valve required.I had that problem on my Autocruise ,also in the winter on this "Concorde" too.Good luck.
