New towbar

just bought new car and it has a detachable towbar brand new and never been used,do I clean the black off it or just use it ?

    Leaving the paint on the ball will contaminate alko stabiliser hitch pads. The ball should be cleaned off using fine wet and dry paper or fine emery or steel wool. It takes about 15 mins.

    A full set of pads (front, rear and sides) is about £50+ so best not to contaminate them. smile I suppose that they might be cleaned - no idea

    Remove with fine sandpaper and then ideally wipe over with brake cleaner.

    As above and use brake cleaner spray to Help keep pads on hitch head clean as they pick up quite a bit of grime from the road when towing,just spray it up into hitch head
