Hello, I have been asked if I knew what this was in a 1990s front box.   It does not appear to be anything to do with the gas connection as that is in place.

Appreciate if anyone knows.

    It is possible it is a spare wheel retaining fixing ,where the wheel whould stand upright and a long bolt goes through the wheel and screws in to that .

    It's a bit hard to guess without seeing the surrounding area but Husky could well be right. It could even be a DIY fitting.
