'Bridge' Rallies

I originally posted this in the 'Hobbies' section but was advised I might get more response here - so re-posting

We're newish to this caravanning lark and have never actually attended a rally, so may be way off beam here. But we've also recently started learning bridge - I say started learning as it appears to take decades to become anywhere near accomplished. What we really need is a bridge holiday where we can play a lot rather than sporadically, so some of it might start to sink in and stick. It occurred to me that combining a caravan break with playing bridge might be a great idea, so wondered if there have ever been any bridge-themed rallies. Seems that both activities attract the 'older generation' :-)

Hello I did read your original post but I don't know the answer so didn't post. Maybe that was rude so I apologise now and say hello and welcome. I do hope you get some response one way or the other. Maybe you could start your own?

I may be the wrong person to answer this, but as far as I can see the rallies for the Caravan And Motorhome Club tend to me more 'general' in nature (not subject specific) and are organised on a local level by centres and regions, but anyone is allowed to attend, even from outside the region.  However, the Caravan And Camping Club tend to organise many of their meets according to 'subject', so it might be worth exploring to see if they have anything that suits your needs.

I could be wrong, and if I am, I'm sure someone will be along to correct me.  It may be worth contacting your own local centre - someone may be able to point you in the right direction.

Hello xxx999xxx and DSB. I am so pleased to see your post about the possibility of playing bridge when 'on the road'. I play regularly at  home and would  would love opportunity to play  bridge while on the road in the UK or abroad. In addition to exploring and walking and cycling, it would be great to get the occasional game of bridge too. Look forward to hearing more, hopefully.

Once you have actually joined a Centre, you will be encouraged to help run a rally if you are so inclined.  You could then suggest that you would like to run a themed rally for playing bridge, fishing or whatever else you are interested in which would also be of interest to other members.

Rallies only happen if members come forward to run them.  Themed rallies can be particularly good for getting to know fellow members.
