There are some fabulous 'things' happening in Hull at the moment! Take a look at this film. It's a series being shown in a theatre fabricated from an Airstream caravan which is doing the rounds of the supermarket car parks. The next episode is coming soon! You can watch it here.

I was last in Hull probably 7 years ago. Visited quite often between mid 60's and mid 70's. It saddens me to see the changes even though Hull is rebuilding its dock areas.

I used to love going on the docks very early when the fish auctions were on at Bilingsgate (named after the famous fish market), watching the lasses on the fish market filleting, being invited onto the 'long distance' trawlers. Loved the atmosphere and the ructions in local pubs when the boats came in. In the early 70s the Locarno,

My uncle was well known and had a chip shop in Hull close to Reckitts. When he died, shortly after the shop was closed, the funeral procession drove around the area and the street was lined with people.

Any body try Wem Ales? If they thought that was bad they should have tried Hull Breweries Bitter. I don't think that I remember many locals ordering it smile
