Hi has anyone been to this site from Lancashire there seems to be a detour as caravans are not allowed on certain part of road

    That is Sutton Bank which is no where near the road you need.  From the AI take the A66, A19 and A174 bypassing Stockton on Tees and Middlesbrough. We have done this journey many times and The North Yorkshire Moors site is lovely.

    went last year. really good site. go via Harrogate and York through pickering.

    Depending on your location in Lancashire both routes are good, approach from the northern Whitby or the southern Scarborough A171 road.

    We have been to this site from both north and South. There is no problem from either direction using either Teesside or York/Scarborough and it depends on which route you use from Lancashire to get to the A12.

    I'm due to visit this site for the 3rd time this Easter. As suggested, take M6 north A66, A19 and A174 towards Whitby. On the outskirts of Whitby take a right towards Ruswarp. This road is quite steep in parts so take care!

    The site is lovely, but choose your pitch with care. I was there a couple of years ago with 50mph winds coming straight across the moors!! Scary!

    Dont forget to make time for a walk down to Falling Foss tea room, direct from the site. Food, especially cakes are wonderful. Also when in Whitby call in at the Waiting Room micropub on the station. Friends of mine have just started this up. Tell them Gill sent you! Have a great time.

    This is a lovely "No facilities" site set in woods with good access to both Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. The only real point to remember is that SatNavs will sometimes try to send you via Littlebeck from the A169 near Sleights - DON'T! If you go down to the bottom end of Sleights, and use the B1410 to Ruswarp there will be no problem. Turn right in Ruswarp on to the B1416 straight up to the site.

    Incidentally, in our view, there is an excellent butchers in Ruswarp and an even better one in Sleights. We can endorse previous comments on Falling Foss tea rooms.

    Just go for it and enjoy your stay.
