I am perplexed ... on my membership page it asks if I want to unsubscribe from the paper version of the magazine ... A good idea it would be easier to read online, I thought ... but wait! the only thing offered is an App which I can use on any Android or iPad/phone ... but nothing to say if I can download it to my PC/Laptop ... neither is there a offer at a reduced membership fee for the saving made by the club ...
I am really going to have to look at if the CL's and Mayday are cost effective once I add the £49 membership fee ... when the Camping and caravan club offer the same (except for the excellent Mayday) plus an online magazine for £37 ... it's making me sad cry

I would like a reduction in the fee if you opt out of receiving the magazine it's of little interest to me as the club wont insure me I not get any member discounts

I think that the club makes more on advertising than it costs to produce the magazine, much like those accursed free papers. That being the case why would they reduce fees for not taking it?

And the advertising rates will be tied to the number of copies sold/distributed.

You won't get a discount for not taking the magazine. Funded independently. If you are worried about getting your money's worth out of the membership fee, then use the Great Days Out deals negotiated by the CC marketing department and some of the discounts at various shops. We always save much more than our membership fee, every year, and that is without Mayday or overseas deals or discounted site fees. We are members because of CL network, but are canny enough to get the paltry membership fee back as well!
