Why do so many CL site owners not bother to post photos of their sites in the listings on the website? Do they not want to encourage members to use their site or are members happy to go to a site when they don't know what it looks like?

No idea. Previously I believe that it was at one time tardiness on the part of CC in uploading the images for whatever reason. Not sure at present and perhaps we will find out. Good thread subject in that regard.

It's a very good point. We don't actively avoid CLs with no pictures if the descriptions and reviews look good, but we certainly do go for ones that have photos where there's a choice.

I agree photos do help me make my choice, shows the CL owner has taken a real interest in their site to promote it fully. However, with this fiasco of the upgraded Web pages for CL's  - reviews missing or attributed to a different site, filters not working etc. Some maybe down to this and if it isn't they may well be considering their opinions after yesterday's announcement which means they will incur the cost of rebrand themselves.

I think we've been waiting five years now for all CLs to have a photo, it was in the pipeline so to speak but has never been organised properly. There seems to be a lethargic approach to getting these things done.

For some time now it has become apparent that the CL network has been the 'poor relation' of the Club. There just isn't the support at Grimstead Towers that there should be.

I don't know if CL owners have submitted but the C&MC have not got around to it or some owners just haven't bothered.

Either way it would be so easy on inspection for the C&MC inspector to take a few shots and forward it to the appropriate department for inclusion. I always use other internet tools to get info on any sites but an initial photo goes a long way to grab interest.

This is another thread that would benefit from a full time staff member champion in the know responding with a statement of fact. ( Of course if the problem lies at the club end then no surprise they wouldn't comment).

Instead we will add to the thread ad infinitum with no result.  Come on CT Manager you introduce all the champion staff members to a big hurrah last year but apart from a couple the rest seem to have been in hibernation.

over 50% of the Caravan Club Journal is  advertising..yet as members we are unable to have a view of a CL that we may like to stay at..if you go into a travel agents or search online where you would like to stay..you would normally expect to find at least one image......the foreword in the new club handbook...says "it is our priority to look to the future" ..I suggest the Club needs to catch up with the present first!!

Caravavman - please consider visiting our CL - we have plenty of photos on the CAMC website and more photos & videos on our own website.

As an added bonus (I see you are from South Yorkshire) - I moved to Shropshire from Hoyland, near Barnsley, so I can act as an interpreter if required wink

But as an independent business its up to the CL owner to send in pictures (not sure if they can add them themselves).  If they are too lazy to promote their business should they deserve our patronage?

The club do have images and I have noticed since the web site upgrade these have been improved and added to.
