Hi,

Can anyone advise me of the correct tyre pressure for my Ace Supreme 2007 (twin axle)  fully loaded?

I can't see the information in the owners handbook. The tyres are standard 'steel rims(not alloys).

I've been running them at 36psi,  someone mentioned they should be 42psi? The rating on the tyre states 55psi max.

Many thanks

Paul Murray

Example, replace figures with your own, you will need the MPTML of your caravan plus the load rating from one of your tyres and maximum inflation pressure.

Working out for a twin axle caravan:

    Example Tyre Details:  205 / 65 R 15 94 H – Maximum Inflation Pressure 60 PSI

    Weight of caravan: 1800 Kg’s

60 / 670 = 0.08955 (Max Pressure for tyre divided by load rating)

    0.08955 x (1800 / 4) = 40.29 PSI (inflation factor times one-quarter of the weight of the caravan)

So the correct tyre pressure is 41 PSI

If you want to see further info re the calculation DaveFL2 has given you, look at a website called >

caravanchronicles.com / guides / How to calculate tyre pressures

It is the last one in the 'How to' section

Dave's 670 Kg comes from the Load Index 94H, use the chart

You will need to know the correct details for your tyres, it is written on the tyre wall.

Thanks guys.  I've now worked out my pressure at 41.67psi

I am about to return home to Aberdeen from Burrs Country Park.  It will be interesting to find out how much of an improvement on mpg.

My outfit as above pulled by a mitsubishi warrior 3.2 (SWB - Automatic),  tyre pressure front 2.6bar and rear 3.0bar.

Ill report back when I get back home.

    Thanks again.
