If somebody with a gun wants my cash they are welcome to it. Far rather they had the £150 quid with my wallet than suspect I was hiding more elsewhere because it was empty.

I would certainly not be  searching for a cashpoint with the van on the back!  If I was not allowed to pitch up first and pay later ( they can always keep the membership card),  I would unhitch and leave the van at reception instead.

If the card machine wasn't working then instead of sending people off to find a cash machine why didn't they simply ring up head office and get them to take payment over the phone by card, or even another caravan site if head office was closed?
