If anyone uses awning rail protector strips, please can you tell me how it's held in situe?

Don't want it flapping about trailing behind the caravan down the M5!

I have it on both sides of the van, going the whole length of the awning rail. There is sufficient friction between the protector and the rail that you don't need anything to secure it.

If you did you could always cut off a few cm and use that to wedge the rail in place at either end..

I'm still new to all this, but saw these strips in a shop while buying other gear for our new-to-us caravan this w/e.

I was wondering if they're actually useful, or just something else for the shop to sell - so, do they really make a positive difference, or are they another bit of extra gadgetry?

    Thanks!

They are very useful for preventing black streaks on the side walls from the roof of the van.  I recommend them.
