Sprite 6 TD and baby
hello, we are thinking of getting a Sprite Major 6 TD and have a small baby. Does anyone have any experience of being able to get a travel cot into one of these, or any other solutions?
TIA

Personally, we had a small cot at home for our grandaughter (as in NOT a cotbed) and we took the side off that and put it up as a bed bar, a bungee cord hooked around the underbed handles & a heavy toy box against the bottom and the table at the top kept it in place and she slept as snug as anything in there - not many caravans have room for a travel cot nowadays as they are quite wide, unless you can find a narrow one that is.
Good luck
Alison
PS: just had a look and the layout is similar to our Lunar 6 berth, we put her right at the end on the seat cushion not actually on one of the bunks, the cot side went from cupboard divider to the wall, back cushion came out and she was also at a decent height so we didn't have to bend right down to floor level to put her down.

I went down a similar road to Alison but a ready made cot side was too short for what I needed so I just made a longer one to enclose a 6ft long bottom bunk - half a century ago ! Certainly leave the travel cot at home.

We had our latest and last addition(number 4 who is now 10 1/2 months, while he was small enough in his Moses basket which we sat on a bunk. Now he has a folding bed guard which is bungied to the frame of the bunk bed and the curtain that surrounds it pulled tight down flat to add more protection. The other three kids aged 6,5 and 2 all just go on their own bunk fine.

Not sure how old my youngest was when we started taking her away in a 5 berth caravan. Probably 4 or 5 months old. I either bought a secondhand cot or had one given an used the cot side and an end with a couple of brackets and a veneered board. It was either used as a cot with a cot mattress or at other times the mattress was removed and it provided a play pen where she could look out of the window when using if she was bored with us. Worked well.

We have a major 6TD. The lower fixed bed at the back is closed off on three sides, if you use a bed bar on the forth side that night work. also you could remove the table from the rear dinette and there might be enough space between the seats for a travel cot of basket. The rear vent would be close by be you would have to close it off to prevent your baby overheating?
Apart from that it is a great family van, and will serve you well as htey grow up,
