Cars and Phones

I was listening to yet another debate about using a phones whilst driving.  I must say from my experiences that along with many other issues mobile phones do create a distraction even when a passenger is using it.

I have a app on my SATNAV that stops me from making any adjustments whilst the vehicle is in motion. I can turn this app off but decided to leave on as this means that I have to pull in to the roadside to make any alterations.

Now! why are phones not setup with the same app without the option to turn it off, in today's world of technology I am sure that this is a possibility.

If this was applied there would be no need of policing the offending drivers and all drivers would be compelled to  stop to use their phone.

This would save life, save cost of policing and ensure that drivers are not distracted.

So come on PHONE MANUFACTURERS AND MPs get your act together.

Did you intend this to be a discussion subject? If so it should really be in the discussion area. If you let me know I can move it for you.

I feel we've seen this before. Is it a duplicate?

David's post is also dated January. The place has gone mad.

What is happening? The whole system seems to be migrating. I get that on my home computer when I've overloaded one area, my pictures etc start to migrate to other areas. Is the system on overload in which case it will get steadily worse. frown

I've just spent half hour writing a site review only to be timed out and the review lost.

I'm not the fastest of one fingered typers so it will be my last.

Perhaps the club should be dumping any thing older than, say, two years on their computers, in order to release more memory for current chats.

You and I might call it 'housekeeping', i.e. sweeping out the old debris from time to time.
