Hybrids and small turbo petrol for towing

given how fast diesel is falling out of favour and hybrids and small turbo petrol engines are arriving  I wonder if it isn't time for some objective testing from the club? I've seen a thread on the Mitsubishi phev but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info around yet.....unless members know better!
