Caravan Value

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to get a good idea of caravan value second hand, dealer values part ex etc... like you do when looking for a new car????  I know that dealers use the glasses guide but seems that's a bit out of reach for us and after trailing through the net can't seem to get much advice.  We are looking to change our van to a Elddis affinity and wanted to know if we are getting a good deal or not.

Many thanks

Simon

It seem to be if a dealer wants to "shift" ie previose years vans ,then you will find they may be open to a better "haggle" than is in their"bible"than if its a popular model, and dealer specials are  in some dealers eyes ,not "popular " as trade ins

Which van do you have?  Many of the most popular models can be found on  www.caravanpriceguide.com

I agree to be honest, but just wondered if their was a website somewhere that anyone can have a look at for the book values, like say parkers website does for cars?

I have had a look at that site before but it does seem to be a good few years out of date to me?  correct me if I am wrong?  We have a Avondale argente that we would like to trade in and are looking to upgrade to a Elddis Affinity.  But this site doesn't have it in?

As your van is an Avondale ,the dealers will do a lot of "Huffing" about unable to get parts and no market ,so be prepared to walk away if you do not get a decent dealwink ,and Affinity are a "new" model so go on line to Elddis dealers and see what is available, but remember if its a long way away ,its also a long way if "warranty " work is neededsurprised

The Avondale is listed, so that will give you an idea of its value, and dealer websites will show the price of an Elddis.  You will do better if you sell the old van yourself than if you trade it in.

There is always room for negotiation.

Exact model and year are important to know when checking prices.

Many thanks guys, I've managed to find a few caravans online at various few places and prices.  Seems to be an ok price for the one I want so quite happy with it.  Just need some glorious British summer  weather and tow-away we go!!

Have a good en guys, happy new year to you all.
