Hello all

I have a 520d bmw and have towed for years but have recently bought a 2010 coachman pastiche and although the car will tow it is 103%  I am thinking of getting a Bmw x3 as the match is much better weight wise it is only 90%.

Has anyone else towed with a bmw x3 and what did the consumption drop down to

Cheers

A friend tows with an X3 and is very happy with it, in fact he prefers it to his Dads Freelander when towing.

I can't comment on consumption sorry, but it sounds like a good tug.

I have a BMW X3 2litre auto, I think it is a good towcar , stable ,plenty of power and torque ,good on fuel , about 28/30 mpg towing, close to 50 mpg solo on long m/way trips ..My van is only about 1360 kg but I would not hesitate to tow much heavier c/van.

I have an X4 which is really an X3 in a slightly different guise and I'm very happy with it. It's a 3.0 litre diesel, returning about 35mpg solo and 26mpg towing an 1800kg caravan.
