Sorry to read of others having miserable weather over the last couple of days,we have been much more fortunate. Today, after a dullish start, we have had a beautiful sunny day and evening. The WNs came over to see us and we had a couple of pleasant walks along the prom at Rhos either side if a picnic lunch looking across the Colwyn Bay, before returning to the van for a good chat. We had a peek inside St Trillo's Chapel, though to be the smallest Chapel in Britain, which only seats 6 people for a service, ice cream in the town and a jar back at the van. It was great to catch up with all their news once again.
Good to hear that you got back home safe and sound David.

Four motorhomes on plus nearly three decades and now returned to the site where my profile photo was taken. The photo below shows the very pitch but it’s not our unit. What wonderful weather we are having sunny, calm and really quite warm. A week here will, I’m sure, see changes. Today is just a pleasant walk around the lake and town. Incidentally, the site is pretty much full.

No sun here today either had some rain and very grey and a thunderstorm forecast for later today and it feels like Autumn with a lot of leaves coming off the trees. Yesterday was better as we had a sort out of our water butts and move them to a different area of the garden just 1 left to do later when we get drier weather and it was warmer nearly 25C a bit cooler today at 18C at present a lot cooler than last year when it was mid thirties.

I know someone will call us wimps - but I have to confess to lighting the log-burner at lunchtime! Ros is full of cold and feeling a bit sorry for herself (first cold either of us have had for at least 10 years!) - so at least the fire has cheered her up a bit

Not wimps at all Richard. Everyone feels the effects of the weather differently. I asked our resident 91 year old the other day if she wanted the CH on as it was a tad on the cool side. "No" she said."I'm having a flush so thinking of opening a window". Still not finished having flushes.
Had a nice change yesterday, meeting up with the Nellies. Lovely weather for it as well. We usually meet up a couple of times in a year but it's been a year since we last saw them in Norfolk. A lot has obviously changed since then (but not them or Flyte!)
Weather not been too bad today, mainly overcast but warm. Carnival in village today. Glad it's dry for it. The ladies went for a nosey and ending up eating too much. We have some lovely people here. Somebody bought MiL ice cream, somebody else bought her cake and somebody bought her a bunch of flowers. All were very kind to her. One of the main reasons we haven't moved.

We are back in Norfolk and this is our view for the next week. Weather not too bad - dry and not at all cold. Light cloud with occasional bright spells.
Pleased to hear that the WNs and the nellies had a good meet up. I love the photo of the little chapel. The people in your village sound so very kind WN.
I hope your OH feels better soon R&R. Yes I would also like the fire on if I felt poorly.

Glad to read that it has been a fine day at Keswick, micky, as it has been a very wet summer up there. Enjoy your stay, and the same to you, Millie, on the Norfolk coast. I hope the sun continues to shine for all of your stay.

Sorry to read thst it has been rather cool for some, as we had another dry and warm day, but without the sunshine we had yesterday. We paid a visit to Bodnant Gardens for our first ever visit there, but it won't be the last, I'm sure. Although quite hilly many of the paths have gentle inclines so make for relatively easy walking. Photos are of the house, which is private; the Pin Mill; the Waterfall and mausoleum (The Poem), with a Gingo tree to the left of the shot; the bridge above the wishing pool; and the Rose Terrace.

Margaret tells me there was a big thunder storm in the middle of the night! Also quite a bit of rain by the looks of it, much needed I hasten to say. Then about mid morning we had another massive thunder storm. One clap of thunder was so close it set the house alarm off. Fortunately I just happened to be next to the control box at the time so I turned it off before the alarm actually started. Back in 1992 when we were off on a three month trip around Europe the same thing happened on a day into the trip. Our friend looking after the house had to call out the alarm people.

Quickly browsed back thru the posts seems everybody has had a mixed bag of weather, similar down here in Cornwall, been here since last Sunday no rain but some cloudy days, until yesterday when the heavens opened at approx 1600 hrs and it has only just relented now 1320 hrs.
Not managed any sea swimming at this stage as tides are not quite right and temperature is only 17 degs so not great if air temp is only 16 degs. Walked at Godrevy, seals still there, this is Crantock beach which is great for swimming, however, the tide goes out for miles so it is a long way to walk, nearly as bad as Southport , for those who know it. Going forward the weather should be an improving picture fingers crossed.

We are away in Norfolk. We have avoided the weather some of you have experienced. It’s sunny and reasonably warm yesterday and today. Who knows for the rest of the week! Perhaps we should be grateful we didn’t get our first choice of somewhere on the south coast as it sounds pretty wet. Take care all and enjoy your time away. It's at its absolute best in early Spring with daffodils, Rhodedendrons, Magnolias and Laburnum all specialities of the place. We tend to go early April and maybe again late April if we're not touring. Mind you as you can see from Nellies photos it can be lovely at any time of year. You should enjoy it as it is a lovely place, if a bit undulating in places.

We took a trip into Sheringham today to get some essential supplies from Tesco (beer and wine 😁). We had a wander around Sheringham and then went to the Poppy Line Heritage Railway station and watched the steam trains whilst having a bite to eat. Now sitting on our veranda whilst drinking said beer and wine. 🍺🍷. Very relaxing.

I wish it had been as fine here as it was in Norfolk today! We had some rain first thing, but thankfully it held off until mid afternoon, but we have had showers since then. After calling in at Tesco we had a walk along the shore by the sand hills at the quieter side of Llandudno. After lunch we drove up to the top of The Great Orme, but could see nothing but thick mist. I managed a walk from the van after we had got back to view the St Trillo's Parish Church, where Harold Lowe, the only officer on the Titanic that returned in his lifeboat to attempt to save drowning passengers, is buried.
I would definitely recommend a visit to Bodnant, heddlo. I have added a couple more photos below of flowers thst caught my eye.

Haven’t posted for a few days, as we have been out and about. Saturday we visited Thomas Hardy’s birth place, really fascinating and brought to life by very knowledgeable guide. Then off to Hardy’s monument. Got back to the car just as the rain started. Sunday went to Lyme Regis, had a wander around and went along the Cobb. Went to Seaton and as soon as we arrived it bucketed down so plan B shopping in Tesco! Today, glorious sunshine so made the most of it by visiting Forde Abbey and Gardens, although the house was shut the gardens were truly spectacular.

Grey,windy and drizzly start here today but not cold. The zip on OH's windproof jacket broke (bought about 6 or 7 years ago) so we took the bus into Cromer, went to Trespass and got him a new one. After a bracing walk along the front we found a cafe for a warm drink and a bite to eat. It has brightened up a bit now and there are a few wind surfers and dog walkers on the beach. The weather forecast for the rest of the week is not brilliant - turning cold❄️.

We are in Norfolk too Milliehull although the other side of Norwich from where you are. I suppose Norwich Cathedral would be a bit of a busman’s holiday for you but we visited today. Have you been before? It reminded us very much of Peterborough Cathedral, except for the nave roof and of course the spire! It’s really lovely and we enjoyed a good 4 hours there including lunch and an hour’s tour with a very knowledgeable lady (how do they remember all this stuff!?). We used the Park and Ride from Norwich Airport which stopped almost outside the Cathedral. I will add a few pictures soon our internet here isn’t great.

Yes heddlo we have been to Norwich Cathedral a few times and love it. So glad you enjoyed your time there. It Is of a similar age to Peterborough. It has the best cafe/restaurant of any Cathedral that I have ever visited. As to how we guides remember all the information I always go through all my notes before I do a tour but a lot of it is because we love the building and it's history. I haven't done any tours for a while because they have been paused during our summer exhibition so I must do my 'homework' when I get home. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Norfolk and keep warm.

We had a nice weekend weather was lovely on Saturday so we went to the Air show that was on at Ayr beach great day very busy and they had an excellent beer garden area so we got a table and sat there watching the planes. Then home and had a BBQ brilliant. Was up early on Sunday morning and away up to Scone Palace near Perth in my classic merc for the car show there great day out with the guys from the Mercedes’ club our club got a good turn out. No rain but not too sunny either so the roof had to stay up. That was the last car show I will be at this year as car will be going away in its garage next month for the winter can’t believe how quick this year has gone. Away in the van next week cannot wait for that it seems like ages since we were last away

A brighter day with sunshine sfter lunch but we had a strong cool breeze off the sea for most of the time. We took a walk along the prom at Llandudno this morning and a couple at Penryn Bay and Corwyn Bay after lunch. Really surprised at what a fine beach and prom there is at the latter, see below. There are also a couple of sculptures that caught my eye. The final one is of the THS with about half the number of units than were there at the weekend.

A lovely morning spent at the nature reserve at Burton on the Wirral.
OH never seems to get the chance to do some clothes shopping for herself when she chaperones her mother so we headed to the large M&S in the retail outlet village in Ellesmere Port.
Then onto a CS high on the Sandstone Trail above Helsby for just a night. Had decent weather if a tad breezy and nippy out of the sun. Off home early tomorrow.

Managed to upload a few pictures of Norwich Cathedral. Love a cloister they are so atmospheric and can visualise clergy etc using them. The copper font was once used in the chocolate making factory in Norwich ( before closing in 1994) apparently it was the receptacle that held the caramel for the Rolo centres. The huge organ had a major refurbishment and was reinstated about a year ago, wish we could have heard it!

Enjoying all the photos and stories, some of our favourite areas and places. 😁 As a child, a lot of my family holidays were taken near Rhyl and Colwyn Bay, as we had family in North Wales. I remember the lifeguards in the 1960’s patrolled the beach on horseback, and the horses would swim out to reach anyone out of their depth and in trouble.
Haven’t yet managed to get to Norwich Cathedral, but it’s up there top of the list. The font story is fabulous, another bit of lost history re used and in a lovely building.We might get to York this Sunday, Classic Car show at the racecourse.

R&R, It seemed to be present on many but not all profiles, but perhaps that is because some have selected not to have that info included in their's.
Not the best of days, weather wise, as we had early morning rain then showers until 10:30. However we were able to get most of the packing up done in the dry, thankfully. We did run into quite heavy rain as we moved southward but it was only light drizzle when we set up at our latest destination, a C&CC site, Llanystumdwy, which is about half full with a roughly even split of caravans and M/Hs, and a couple of tents too. Unfortunately it has just started to rain rather heavily again, so it looks like another wet pre-bedtime walk.
Hope that the rain missed you WN, and were able to get a dry walk in before heading back home.
Grand, photos, heddlo, and liked the bit about the copper font, we missed that the time we visited the cathedral. A good excuse to go back again as well as having a second view of all the characters highlighted in the Cloisters.

It’s feeling a bit Autumnal here now. Plants are definitely wondering whether or not to keep going, we have moved OHs tomatoes into greenhouse, the pool hasn’t been used for nearly a week. Bit of rain overnight, but it’s lovely and sunny outside, but a cool breeze. OH has ordered a new chain saw, old one packed in while he was log chopping Monday. We have a full log store and plenty more to go at though, it’s well seasoned wood so easy to cut and burns cleanly. We have lit our stove twice in evening this week, quite early for us. Forecast is for a warmer week next week, so 🤞🤞

A 'car & shopping day' today Just at Asda whilst the car is at ATS having wheel alignment done. We had a problem earlier in the summer with the rear tyres wearing on the inside edges.... that cost us two new tyres whilst in Stornoway. Hopefully ATS will sort it today.
(To clarify: OH is in Asda, I am sitting in the small car - AKA 'the rust bucket' - in Asda car park writing this! 🤣)
