French Autoroute Warning
Have just returned from four weeks in France. After one trip on an autoroute towing the caravan we paid at the automatic toll booth, they are virtually all automatic and pay by card now. we then spotted that we had been charged at Lorry rate Class 4 as opposed to Caravan rate Class 2, I.e. double. It happened again at the next charging point so I pulled over in the 'bureaux' vehicle park and went to the office and explained. The lady refunded the overcharge and told us to look at the screen at the pay point to check the class, and if it was wrong press the help button and the controller would change it. It did happen again. I wonder how many Brtitish caravanners have overpaid this year So if you are going to use toll roads check before you pay.
