We visited the Maragowan site in Killin recently. It was nice and flat, open and very quiet. We were able to access the Sustrans 7 cycle route very near the site and cycled wonderful off road tracks all the way down to Balquidder, and had coffee in the Kings House Hotel. It went past Lochearnhead as well. The route also goes along the west side of Glen Ogle and over one of General Wades viaducts. You get a great view from there watching the cars and motorbikes wend their way up the glen road. A few good places to eat including the Falls of Dochart Inn, well priced meals and some real ales. I have to mention a young artist we met named Catriona King who specialises in animals portraits, a few people were getting their beloved dogs done, all you do is send her a photo and she will do an oil painting at a very good price, I think her website is just her name plus .com. Anyway you have to visit this site next time your in the highlands. Bye for now.
