Dogs banned from Longleat - even the car parks

Having visited Longleat CC site for many years, was horrified to learn the estate has banned dogs from the gardens, the grounds, the square and even the car parks. It's a site we enjoyed visiting because we can walk our dogs during the day and exercise them in the evening (this included the kids when young!). We were not alone in this, we met many dog-owners doing the same. Each morning we walked through the estate up the Hornimgsham - in the evening, the same walk up to the Bath Arms. If walking your dog from the site, be aware, you can only turn right - well that's taking you nowhere of interest.
