How caravan club emergency dept saved the day

I was really looking forward to my first trip abroad with the caravan, going to France to watch my 6yr old horse compete for the first time with a union jack on his saddlecloth, We were entered for a 1star 3 day event at ligniere. Car serviced, new tyres, passports packed (both human and equine), red pennant insurance purchased. That was the best descision I have ever made, 2 hours after leaving home the car went into limp mode, called the helpline and the angels that are the girls in the emergency dept swept into action. First a recovery truck was sent, we decided to leave the caravan( with my sister inside ) at thurrock services and went to the garage at benfleet, no easy option for repair part not available until the following day, phoned the desk no problem they would find me a replacement, phone the ferry company to make sure we did not lose booking, 4 hours later a land rover was brought to the garage all the gear from my car was transferred and I was back off to thurrock, because of the delay we decided to stay the night at Dover, the girls booked us onto the campsite and we arrived about 6pm. Left there at 6 and was on the 7-35 Calais bound ferry. The happy end to this story is that I was able to watch and enjoy Charlie compete, without the caravan club girls and the red pennant travel insurance it may have been a different story. On my return they even rang me to make sure that the car had been collected. So my warmest thanks go to the girls with special mention for Sarah, bee and all the girls who helped us. Lynn Robertson
