We hitched up the caravan and were on our way by 11:15 Wednesday morning. Our journey took us from the Club site at Northbrook Farm through Long Furlong and up the A24 towards Dorking and Leatherhead. From there we joined the M25 for our first stop at Cobham Services.

Having found a spot in the Caravan section of the car park there, we had lunch. After that we proceeded on our journey to join the M4 westbound. We reached Leigh Delamere Services by 16:00. The Caravan  park there was in the same area as the lorry park. Nevertheless, we decided on an overnight stop there where we were able to pay the overnight fee by phone. It was very convenient because it was between junction 17 and 18 of the M4 and only seven miles away from our exit.

Our caravan was booked in to have the necessary warranty work done on the aircon and fridge door catch at Chipping Sodbury Caravans. So we needed to be there between 08:00 to 08:30 a.m.

There was quite a bit of noise from lorries coming and going especially in the early hours of the morning. So not easy to sleep through it all.

We arrived on time at Chipping Sodbury Caravans to drop the caravan off and then went out for the day with friends as arranged. We visited Weston Super Mare. It was a brilliant sunny day and we had a fish and chip lunch by the sea front. We returned to collect our caravan at 16:30 as arranged. They had managed to repair the fridge door catch but didn't have the necessary part to repair the aircon. So they told me that they would order it and let us know, which gives me an excuse for another two days off work to fit in another trip to Chipping Sodbury! Like they say: behind every cloud there's a silver lining!

We then proceeded on our return journey where we stopped overnight in Horsham at the Slinfold Club site before returning to Northbrook Farm the next morning.
