Added rig security at home
Our Freedom Sunseeker is not quite a year old and although small it has all the recommended security devices required by our insurers. New to caravanning we are very protective of our new baby and so I thought I would share an additional security tip I now follow, although forgive me if it is a well known practice.
My home is protected by a wireless security system which, linked to the house telephone line, is able to send an alert to our mobile phones as well as sounding the siren. The kit was less than £200 and came with a enough PIR detectors and magnetic catches to secure an average sized house. The system can accomodate up to 20 detectors and I had already purchased extra on the internet in order to protect my two sheds. I thought why not protect the caravan too so now an additional PIR detector is installed in our van. Any excess movement will activate the alarm once the system is armed at night or while we are away from the house so giving us that extra peace of mind.
