Site 22 – Warwickshire Racecourse
Warwickshire Racecourse is a small, compact site in the middle of the Warwick racecourse. Apart from the usual Caravan Club sign, the site is easily hidden from view. This location felt quite unusual since the entrance meant crossing the racecourse track and on race days arriving and departing is obviously restricted. Over-looking the site is a large open field with a small woodland - ideal for short walks.

Pitches are on both grass or tarmac and are bordered by woodland, although one stretch lines a section of the racecourse track. The facilities (one toilet block) is clean and the wardens are very accommodating.

The site is easily accessible from the motorway and of course offers an easy route out of the city to explore places further afield such as Birmingham, Leaming Spa or Stratford on Avon. Primarily the site is ideally situated for exploring Warwick, which is exactly what we did. The is no need to drive since shops, cafes, restaurants and many of the historical attractions are within easy walking distance from the site. After starting the day with a hearty breakfast at Wetherspoons, we headed to Warwick castle for a dose of history. Be warned the entrance fees and astronomically expensive so it is advisable to make the most of your caravan club membership and use the Great Days Out voucher in order to get two tickets for the price of one.
