Knitting seems to have skipped a generation and passed on to Ella. A while ago she taught herself how to finger knit so we put these skills to good use for this challenge.

We bought a ball of wool from a small shop in Newcastleton and then spent a few days making three long strips, which we eventually plaited together to make a thicker scarf. We’ll put away and bring out in the colder months. 

Ella’s video gives a quick explanation of how to finger knit, if you’re tempted to give it a go.
