Rallying misconceptions…
I started a thread over in the Discussions section/Social Room (‘Are you registered..?’) and that age old misconception about rallies raised its head once again. All ralliers know the one… you wouldn’t get me on a rally for love nor money because I hate muddy fields…!!!
Well I’d like to share a few pictures of some rallies we have been on and as I said in the thread…I do own a pair of wellies but I cannot remember the last time I actually wore them, we are far more likely to be dressed as in the chosen few pictures I have used here…

Myself and my family generally enjoy the rallies,as you can visit some very interesting locations. However they can seem very"clicky"! Yes,a lot of the ralliers have known each other for many years and rally together regularly. We just keep ourselves to ourselves, and
be pleasant and polite. One of the socials that we attended at a rally over Easter in Filey was especially "clicky"!We walked into this school sports hall/gymnasium and were met by a group of around 100 people and all eyes were on us.Just like we had walked
into a wild wild west saloon! The best rally of the years programme in our area is the Joint Yorkshire Centres Six Star Rally at Elvington Airfield near York.0 -
We joined a centre to enable us to do some 'cheaper' camping in places where we could go walking. Never again! On arrival we paid far more than was stated in the booklet and no-one spoke to us apart from the man who took our money at the gate. We were told
to expect the chairman to meet and greet, but he never arrived. We did not even stay one night. I have never met such an unfriendly group of people and have been put off for life.So sorry you appear to have had a bad experience. However, please don't 'tar everyone with the same brush'. I've come across some pretty anti social and unfriendly people on Club sites and CL's, as well as some on rallies as well. Fortunately they are very
much in the minority. Still, if you give up at the first hurdle, you will never meet all the good guys!0
