Buses and Morris Cars
I've just done my first 'non local' caravan trip of the year: due to health challenges, when going further afield, I prefer to stop off en route to my destination and on the way back. So, living in Norfolk, I spent two nights at Ashridge Farm, then on to Bladon Chains for four nights, and two nights at Cherry Hinton on the way home. Whilst enjoying National Trust and English Heritage attractions in the Cotswolds, I saw that the Oxford Bus Museum, at Long Hanborough, quite close to Bladon Chains, was having a gala weekend. I enjoyed the many exhibits in the museum, including a bus which my grandma would have travelled on from Martham to Great Yarmouth and back when she was a young woman, and the Morris cars museum as an added bonus. On top of this, there was a timetable of free bus rides out of the site and around the local countryside- just to be different, I took the opportunity of travelling on a diesel/electric hybrid bus, rather than an old rattletrap! The volunteers were extremely friendly- well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Blenheim Palace are continuing to offer a sizeable discount on their entrance fee on presentation of your payment receipt from the Bladon Chains site.
