CORROSION IN THE 13 PIN PLUG.

Whilst investigating a fault on our 3 year old caravan – no rear offside caravan indicator – a mobile caravan engineer opened the 13 pin plug. What a mess. Despite the plug being weather protected at all times, except when towing, two of the pins were fused together with rust and a many other were significantly corroded.  Against all expectations and with much WD40 all the screws were removed without breaking.

It may be pragmatic for us all to request a visual inspection of the contacts within this plug to be included in ever annual service.
