Hi I am a proud owner of an 97 T4 Compass Calypso 2.4 Diesel,

I like everyone else who owns a Motorhome it has to be roadworthy and therefore it has to be M.O.T’d, simple just ring up any garage and they’ll fit it in, I thought, what a bloody palaver, look on google I thought, so, typed in servicing and up they came, so I picked out a few as you do and rang them.

It’s amazing how so many don’t do engine servicing, I should point out, at a reasonable price, well as my Motorhome means a lot to me I was willing to expect to pay anything up to £500.00 that’s from a dealer of course, anyway moving on, I phoned a company in Canterbury having been recommended by another M/Homer and found out they don’t do mechanical servicing only an habitation service, anyway after phoning several others and getting near the time my M.O.T expires I began to try other ideas only to find out that most smaller garages in the Maidstone area have low roofs anything above 9 ft was a no, no.

It was then I found out just by chance that Watling tyres do servicing and M.O.T’s so I phoned them up and spoke to a nice man who was really helpful and said would tomorrow be o.k, but before I said yes I asked him if the roof height was o.k and he said no problem sir we do commercial vehicles of all heights so I booked it in, the total bill, £175.00

So instead of beating round the bush as I have, I would recommend to anyone ring Watling tyres up, if you have one near you, VFM, value for money.

That’s it.

We had to have our Rapido (on a Fiat Ducato base) serviced by a Fiat dealer for the first few years of its' life to comply with the warranty.  Luckily our local one had a big enough ramp to take our 3.85 tonnes vehicle, but we were never happy with their
treatment of our van, they scraped it quite a few times moving it around their compound, plus they were VERY expensive!  We managed to find a local company through a leaflet we got in the MMM magazine - they are perfect, a sensible price and just around the
corner - sorry they're a bit far  away from you in Hampshire!

If you're in Medway as it looks like on the map you could try Wents Services in Ulcombe/Kingswood, closer than Cnaterbury? I've used them for 20 years for car servicing. They rent out MH's themselves so should be able to help - 01622 844 844 ask for Adam
/ Ray; Son & Father, say Gary Morris recommended and you'll be well looked after.
