Caravan Club SatNav
I was swayed by the large 2 page adverts in recent issues of the Caravan Club Magazine to buy a SatNav. In the past most SatNavs are 3'' or 5", and the larger one is easier to read. So I didn't think and went for the larger one in the advert. Yes I know it says quite clearly they are 5" and 7", but it didn't register with me. I now have the larger one in my car, and boy is it big. Presumably it is intended for larger vehicles than a car, like large motorhomes etc. and the 5" is adequate for a car. It says in the blurb under the 7" heading 'Car mode - use as a normal car sat-nav'. I can only presume it is for back seat drivers to refer to. Beware it is big, it takes up quite a bit of windscreen space - ie forward vision.
Then I tried to load the software disc (instead of a manual). A bit tricky, but quite possible. If you want to download the Aura Camera data base, then you find the software is not supported by Windows 2000 or earlier, some XP, and Apple Mac operating system, and only certain browsers - presumably not Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox ?. The advert makes a point, through a different coloured ink, that free club information updates are for life. But is this the case for those of us who use Apple Macs ?
