Possible scam to obtain your bank details
I haven't been able to get onto the site for a while due to travelling commitments. But this is what happened when I booked a camp site using the Internet. Every year I go to a reunion involving the crew of a warship I served on while in the Royal Navy. The reunion is arranged through a company that does all the work for us. This year we were booked into a hotel in the midlands. We then got a notice that they had changed the hotel to another hotel which didn't have very good review. It was decided that someone would have to go and check the hotel out. That job fell to me. I checked for a Caravan Club site nearby in order to do this. No luck. So I checked for a Camping and Caravan Club site nearby. I was in luck, so I went through the booking procedure and booked the necessary time at the site in order view the hotel. Part of the booking procedure required I pay a deposit which I did using my credit card. At the finish of the transaction a screen popped up offering me protection for my credit card. As I didn't need it I ignored it and Deleted User it. A couple of days later checking my e-mails I found an e-mail telling me that my credit card had been blocked. It told me to download the attached form to unblock it. When I downloaded the form my computer warned me that the form would damage my computer if I opened it. so I Deleted User it and the e-mail. I subsequently spoke with my credit card provider who assured me that everything was fine, they also told me that they wouldn't contact me by e-mail anyway. Over the ensueing weeks I have received several e-mails from the same source telling me that my credit card is blocked and I need to download the attached form and fill it out to unblock it. At one point they even claimed to be from my credit card provider and gave an address in Dublin.
