Well that's our first week away in our van over,I was a little nervous in
the week before we left, never having towed on a motorway before only
dual carriage way.The only problem I had was an uphill junction
turning right at traffic lights,I stalled the car then panicked.

Arrived on site to be met by Family who were waiting for us and exchanged
greetings,we haven't seen them since April.
When asked about the journey down they were amazed that we'd left home
at 7-45am and arrived at 1-15 including two short stops.

The site (Upton Manor Farm) itself was lovely, everyone was friendly, it was clean and tidy
and beginning to slow down for the winter,it closes end of September.

We walked into Brixham about a mile, relatives walked to Paignton (we caught the Bus)
we walked along the Costal Path,Torquay was a Boat ride away, £1 each each way and we laughed and talked into the night.

The weather was fair till Friday and  we managed shorts and tee shirts most days, but the signs were ominous, bad weather was forecast for Sunday, 50-60 mph winds and heavy rain..

Sadly with my lack of towing experience and my wifes nervousness of Motorways we decided that we would head of home early.

So with heavy heart, we left mid morning on Saturday,10 minutes to leave Brixham
another hour and a quarter to reach the Motorway and then another 5 hours on the road.

Results of the week.we enjoy caravanning,we relax more, we spend less
and we can't wait to go again.

An observation. With Cruise control set to 61ish mph
the number of cars towing caravans leaving us standing

Ah, but you'll be the one saving on fuel! Glad you enjoyed your holiday, it's a favourite area of ours for short breaks, wish I was there now!
