CARAVANNING IN LES MIMOSAS NARBONNE SOUTH OF FRANCE
A Bad experience
We booked in January for two weeks at Les Mimosas in Narbonne south of France. In the brochure the site looked very good ,we gave all the information required including van size and our request was excepted .
After four days journey stopping at three excellent sites all of them Castel sites, we arrived at our destination the greeting was very pleasant and were shown to a pitch or I should say half pitch the road to pitch was as wide as the van and nearly sixty minutes later with a lot of manipulation we got on to the pitch but not without scratching and denting our new van. When we complained we where told there was nowhere else. Once we had put our awning up there was only nine inches down either side and no where to put the car.
After what seemed to be a long day we went to have dinner at the restaurant which was quite good once back at van we found ourselves the only item on the menu for the hundreds of mosquitoes and this was all week!
This was not helped by the waste water drain being close to the pitches and over flowing and not running away. Speaking to other club members on this site we all agreed it doesn’t come up to standard as shown in brochure. One member even phoned the club to find another site. I had booked two other pitches one for my daughter and her husband and one for my granddaughter and her friend. The latter had to leave early so I asked if I could change to her pitch the answer was yes as both pitches where paid for by me. As we where moving some one came up at eleven fifty five and asked if we would be gone by twelve I said no, he went away only to reappear with a member of staff, who said if I did not move of by twelve I would have to give up the other pitch I said no . We moved later that day, I find this level of hostility unnecessary and very disappointed as this site is recommended in the clubs overseas guide.
So be a ware of this site.
