Caravanning with a dog
We have just acquired a small dog now that we are retired and have time to spend with it (as opposed leaving it at home while we both went to work). We have experienced a widly different attitude to dogs, especially in France where we have just returned from. Well behaved dogs are welcomed in a lot of restaurants, even inside the premises in a lot of cases - try that in the UK! We appreciate that not all people like dogs, but a well behaved dog is infinitely better than badly behaved children (yes, we do have children and grandchildren, all of whom know how to behave when out). We have found a most useful web sitecalled doggie pubs.org that shows pubs in the area where you wish that accept dogs. A lot of them are eating houses and they show if your canine friend is allowed, the majority allowing the dog in the bar if you are wishing to eat. Whilst on about dogs and more specifically their owners, where is the point in clearing up the dogs mess and then leaving the bag in the place where the mess was? Good owners clear the mess and take it away to later put the bag in a bin. Wise up dog owners and treat the land with respect and maybe non owners of dogs will accept dogs more readily.
