NEVER EVER TAKE THE WIFES WORD FOR IT

On Sunday 21st July 2013 my wife and I duly arrived at Stamford Caravan Club site after an hour and half journey, and was I ready for that cup of tea. We settled on pitch 71 and my wife helped me to reverse back to the peg as she has done on numerous occasions so I trusted her as you do. We have been caravaners since the 1970s but it was our first time out with our new caravan and awning and was eager to get everything set up right. I levelled the caravan put the jacks down connected the electric and had nearly got the awning up bar from the pegging out when a friendly voice from the next pitch said “I hope you don’t mind me saying but I think the warden is going to move you mate” oh and whys that I said he replied “because you’re the wrong side of the peg”. And sure enough the peg was on my nearside not the offside. Oh what a silly wife I have she backed me in here. The warden arrived and you guessed it I had to move over 8feet. The wife and I smiled at each other and began taking the awning down when we were swamped with about 5 men who had been watching. Don’t take it down they said we will help you move it. Luckily I had a mover so I upped the jacks tried to remove the wheel lock and it refused to budge. Two hours later after kicking, hitting and cajoling and cups of tea organised by the men’s wives we got it off. If I had any hair I would have pulled it all out by then. Anyway I don’t know the names of all concerned who helped me other that Keith and the warden so thank you all for your help perhaps I can reciprocate some time. But remember chaps check were you park even though the wife tells you its ok.

I'm not. I don't know how that's happened but it was attached to my profile. Cannot find out how to put it right.
