Poor Club Site Directions.....Wirral Country Park
When visiting Wirral Country Park a few weeks ago, my local Club Site, I got talking to a couple from Warrington who loved the site but were reluctant to visit again due to the horrific directions provided in the Club Handbook. The directions advised coming off the M53 and travelling along a dangerously winding narrow road, 50 MPH caravan limit at times, through a small village and eventually arriving in Heswall, Wirral. I suggested in future that they stayed on the M56 from Manchester to its end and then turned right onto the A540. This is a dual carriageway in part and the main road all the way through to Thurstaston Roundabout. A simple safe route especially for the novice caravanner. Similar better routes are available for visitors travelling via the Mersey Tunnel to avoid the Clubs' recommended route Via Arrowe Park and Irby Village, again good safe caravan routes.
