Today we arrived at Camping les Cent Vignes, the municipal site in Beaune. We could see that our neighbour was having problems with connecting his electric supply( in the pouring rain) and eventually Cath gave the OK to go to his help.

To cut a long story short, together we fixed the problem ( a duff lead) and I was invited in for an aperitif. Philippe et Evelyne had hired their motorhome for two weeks to see if they liked the lifestyle: the previous and first night they had stopped on a Camping a la Ferme and Evelyne was all for packing it in!!

We had several 'aperitifs' , Catherine joined in when she came looking for me, and   it was a great start to our evening. Evelyne's happier about motorhoming and we've echanged email addresses.

We speak some French and our new chums can speak some English and so we had a lovely evening.

When you come to France, try out your school French - they'll really appreciate it!

That's good Chas & Cath, it is always nice to help others from another country, as we have been helped so many times in the past by others. I once recall in Roses in norther Spain trying to use my schoolboy French to speak with a man in a bar over lunch.
Unfortunately neither of us could say enough until we discovered we could both speak Spanish reasonably well and we had a great conversation then. I will never forget that, it was so strange. The downside for me now is that we are intending to visit France
a fair bit but when I even try to speak a non English language my brain automatically reverts to Spanish! Don't know how that will go down? Enjoy the remainder of your time away. Regards, Roy

Ricard and Prudence have both suggested that we shouldn't travel this morning, so another night at Beaune.

Today, after lunch, I helped Philippe to connect his hose to the water tap on his emplacement. While he (over) filled his water tank he insisted that we have a 'digestif' - a blend of calvados and cidre ( he's from Normandie). Then the girls insisted in joining in. Here's a photo taken with the timer and the camera balanced on top of a nearbye bin.
